26 JANUARY Tatyana’s day on GUM-Skating rink |

The traditional celebration of Tatyana’s day on the Red Square took place for the forth time on the 25th of January. Department of Family and Youth Policy of Moscow together with the prefecture of the Central Administrative District of Moscow organized the event.
The festival could be entered having the invitations, distributed by the Department of Family and Youth Policy in the Universities of Moscow. The most deserving students that achieved the greatest results in studies and social life got those invitations. Freezing time the capital had been living in for several weeks created no obstacle for celebrating. Thousands of visitors went skating and took part in various contests or took photos with diverse stars.
The official event’s part was short enough. Alexey Gusev, the acting director for the department of family and youth policy, congratulated the public and then said: The celebration under the aegis of Moscow government is for the forth time organized on the Red Square. It became a very good tradition. Our students have just passed the examinations and so soon you’ll have some free days, new impressions, new meetings. It is so great that the student’s day can be celebrated in a special manner, like going skating, contesting when there is such a frost. I wish all students health, good luck and all the best».
The famous Russian athlete Svetlana Khorkina also came to congratulate the students. She is the deputy Chairman of the youth affairs Committee in the State Duma. Besides this,
well-known Olympic champion makes her studies in the Academy of State service, so she is also a student. She said: «I am very happy to be together with you on the main square in our country, in the very heart of the capital, right by the Kremlin. I also think that going skating in the Tatyana’s day became a nice tradition. Education, science and sport are very interesting to the youth. I wish you to keep energy and action, wish you to graduate, and then find a job helping our country.»
This day is also celebrated as Russian students’ day and so the festival organizers got together stars like: «Reflex» pop group, singer Lyudmila Sokolova, «Plazma» pop group, beatbox champions Vakhtang, DJ Shelest, DJ
M-Voice, DJ Max Weber. That day designer Antonina Shapovalova and actor Gosha Kutsenko were also awaited as well as many other celebs. The event’s performers were radios’ «Megapolis FM» and «Zachot FM anchorpeople: Alexander Rulev, Paul Dikan, Tatiana Chaika and Rust Sergeyev.
All evening long there was a free skates’ hire. Everyone could join the celebration, as a special area was set aside for people passing by. They could listen to the music and dance, seeing many celebs.
