view all photos This year we tried to create for our visitors a very special atmosphere, in which you can feel the unique spirits — an anxious anticipation of a Holiday. As in a childhood when a smell of mandarins and pine needles used to give a rise of a joyful mood, and you were sure that at that moment Santa Claus would come and would give you the present you were dreaming of all the last year through…

In the center of GUM, right in place of fountain, has arisen high to the glass arches the heroine of all the New Year holidays — the glamorous New Year tree in a shining attire of Swarovski crystals. Long the lateral lines in the well-disposed rows spendour her «younger sisters» — the stylish tiny new year trees, decorated with the firm new year toys of the confectionary concern Ferrero Roche. Under the trees there are the fancy boxes, which make you think that in the New Year Eve all the family will gather and will impatiently open their presents looking forward to a surprise. Have you already thought what your relatives would like to find under the New Year tree in New Year?

Every morning the GUM’s space fulfills with the sounds of the life music. On one of the bridges, near the New Year Tree, almost soaring in the air plays a real jazz band, which members wear the fancy dresses. Have you ever before frequented a musical meeting of Santa Clauses that perform jazz improvisation? Have you ever before done shopping to the accompaniment of the orchestra playing the instrumental music? You will take away from GUM a one more pleasure gift — a smile and the pleasure emotions that a good music gives you.

Under the glass arches of the passage «wander» the huge bells — garlands of red and gold balls.

A generous decoration of the New Year GUM — it’s a whole canvas of shining lights. A festive light of the New Year illumination is reflected in the eyes of our guests and becomes joy and merry mood.

From the part of the Red Square opens a fabulous view of GUM. On the main square of the country we have prepared for you a gigantic surprise: a big-big sparkling present for the main holiday of the year. It is — a new GUM. The lines of bulbs emphasize all the architectonic elements of the building. The GUM’s building is shining!

All those things are done to make every detail of the Main Department Store look unique and festive. We wish you a happy New Year and we promise you the new special surprises in 2006.
